Bureau des Expressions

Photographie
06/2024

This photo shoot was carried out during a workshop led by Didier Daarwin at the Saint Menet studios, located in an abandoned factory. The goal of the workshop was to select a specific spot within the vast studio space and design an entire world around it, with a unique artistic direction. This included choosing the models, styling, makeup, poses, and the overall concept.

For this project, I imagined an absurd universe where the factory is transformed into the Ministry of the French Language. My shoot opens the doors to the Office of French Expressions, where five characters each embody a different idiomatic expression.

The expressions portrayed are:
Être au bout du rouleau (to be at the end of one's rope),
Se prendre un râteau (to get rejected),
Tailler une pipe (to give a blowjob, used here with layered meaning),
Tenir la chandelle (to be the third wheel),
Avoir la tête dans les nuages (to have the head in the clouds).
