For this photography workshop, our objective was to recreate an existing photograph and then reinterpret it. I chose to replicate a vibrant and colorful image by Anne Claire de Breij. The workshop took place over the course of a week at Home Studio in Marseille.
For my reinterpretation, I decided to completely transform the original photo so full of life and color into something entirely different. I aimed to strip away its liveliness by replacing the fresh flowers with dried ones and swapping the colorful gloves for black ones. This shift gave the scene a somber, almost funereal atmosphere. Despite this, I still sought to capture an image that was visually beautiful and aesthetically compelling.
During the workshop, we were also tasked with creating a behind-the-scenes photo booklet, an excerpt of which you can see here.
